Your Questions On Ready For Intimacy Moisturizer (Multi purpose moisturizer)

Here's everything you need to know about Riley House Ready For Intimacy Moisturizer

Have you ever felt guilty or embarrassed putting your intimate moisturizer (a.k.a. "lube") on top of your shelf or on your bedroom table? We had the same feeling and realized that there were so much room for this category to be treated more thoughtfully, intimately and modernly. Today, we break down all the ingredients and the Korean ancestral superfood we added into creating this product for you!

Why did you create Ready For Intimacy Moisturizer?

Our inspiration on creating Ready For Intimacy Moisturizer was to create a visually-appealing intimate product for women to not be embarrassed or shameful to put it on top of their bedroom table. The reason we didn’t name it ‘lubricant’ was because we didn’t want to label it only for the certain activity, but we wanted this product to be used as an intimate self-care for various purposes. (And just as our tagline “Wellness Without Boundaries”, that’s what we were ultimately aiming for!)

Is Ready For Intimacy Moisturizer a lube?

When it comes to water-based lubes, Aloe Vera is the most popular and commonly used ingredient, but it surely has its cons: it dries out quickly especially during foreplay which requires multiple reapplications and the coolness can feel like a sting to some. We wanted to create a better alternative, so we decided to add a Korean ancestral superfood that has been used as a medicine for generations to cure more than 100 symptoms: Organic Prickly Pear Cactus Extract.

What are the Korean superfoods in the product?

  1.  Prickly Pear Cactus is native to Jeju-Island, which is the largest island in South Korea and one of the most popular tourist destinations. Jeju island natives would call the plant “100-Year-Old Cactus” in Korean because it says that it can cure 100 kinds of diseases, such as atopic skin diseases, asthma, stomach pain, diabetes, and especially OB/GYN diseases.
  2.  Sea Kelp is also a stable ingredient already in K-beauty skincare, and it’s a very common ingredient Koreans enjoy as a meal.
  3.  Lion’s Mane Mushroom also goes back in history and has been used as a Korean traditional medicine to fight various cancer. Nowadays, we like to eat them as porridge, soup, or shabushabu.
  4. A small portion of the product is formulated with Lactobacillus, which is a vaginal microbiota that helps maintain a healthy human vagina. Lactobacillus can be extracted from various plants, but we chose to use the Lotus Flower to honor its symbolism in Korean culture.

Is it safe for use during oral sex?

As we did not add glycerin (a metabolic byproduct of sugar) to our Moisturizer because it can lead to bacterial growth and ultimately result in yeast infections and UTIs. However, if you are looking for a lubricant for oral sex, glycerin acts as a sweetener that can enhance sexual activity, When it comes to lubes, select the right ones thoroughly.

Is it safe to use it with silicon toys?

Yes, the formula is water-based, which makes it compatible to use with silicon devices and latex condoms.

Can you apply Ready For Intimacy Moisturizer on other parts of the body?

Vaginal Moisturizer

Our Intimate Moisturizer hydrates, conditions and replenishes intimate skin. It's made to improve skin density, and provide daily moisture for the pubic areaHave you ever experienced itchy pubic hair or itchy genital area? It may be because of your new underwear or new body cleanser product that didn’t match your sensitive intimate skin.

We recommend that it's kept on the nightstand or bedside table, and used before bed as a self-care ritual: 1-2 pumps or as needed to clean fingertips and then gently massage onto intimate skin.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage

It is also designed to be used as a massage gel specifically for lymphatic drainage around the bikini (or groin) area. This area plays an important role because it connects the upper and lower body. Since most of us remain sitting for long periods of time, fluids are prevented from flowing properly, which can cause chronic swelling. If you deal with chronic swelling in your abdomen, groin, hips, genital area, and legs, doing self-massage can help move extra fluid to let the clean blood circulate properly.

For self-lymphatic massage, start by applying a generous amount in the groin area. Lightly massage the abdominal and pelvis using circular motions starting at the belly button, then working your way outward. Move down to the bikini or groin area with light pressure using fingers and palms, and brush upwards towards the abdomen. We recommend repeating this for at least 10 minutes for lymph drainage.

*Light pressure is enough for lymph massage because the lymphatic system is close to the surface of the skin.

Post Waxing Treatment

Cooling the pubic area after waxing is an essential step to relieve stimulation, redness and prevent ingrown hair. Most products are made of Aloe Vera but we used 91.38% organic prickly pear Cactus extract that is much more powerful than Aloe for our post waxing treatment!

*After hair removal, apply 1-2 pumps on clean fingers and apply a thin layer to the affected areas.

What is the full ingredient list?
